Reason For This WebsiteThis website is created based on my experience as a 2014-2016 Teachers for Global Classrooms (TGC) Fellow. Participation has been by far, one of the most engaging, and rewarding professional development experiences I have had. My goal, through this platform, is to become part of the network of educators working to spread the benefits of global awareness and global competency for our students, as well as showcase some of the tools that can seamlessly help us all incorporate the concepts of global education in our day-to-day practice.

My BackgroundI have been an educator in the K-12 system in South Florida for about 17 years. During that time I have taught both middle and high school students. My love of learning, which ultimately led me to become part of what I believe is the most important profession, began early. In Kingston, Jamaica where I grew up, I found elementary and high school to be a haven. More than anything, I'd literally get lost in books!! I kid around by telling my students all the time that at their age, I knew more about the United States than they do, all from the pages of books! As a global learner now, who is working to help heighten my students' global awareness, I look back and realize that although I didn't set foot on an airplane till I was twenty-one years old, long before that, I traveled the entire world through books. This is why, landing in India on June 8, 2015 was like a life-long dream come true, having read about that wonderful, dynamic country from I was a child.
